Any type of vehicle may be used for the vehicle search (car, tractor, semi, motorcycle, etc.)

and there are usually three to five vehicles in the search area.  

 

Only the exteriors of the vehicles are searched and dogs are discouraged from jumping on

or pawing at the vehicle, which could incur faults.
